Summary

We are looking for a Business Analytics Intern to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)/Data Analytics team to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting and business insights. In this role, you’ll interface with multiple areas of the business – including sales, operations, and finance – while developing technical skills (SQL, Power BI, etc.) and business acumen. This internship is ideal for a rising junior or senior year student passionate about data, problem-solving, and making an impact. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources to support business questions
  • Assist in creating dashboards, reporting, and visualizations using Power BI, Excel, & SQL.
  • Identify trends and patterns in data to provide actionable insights
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into data-driven solutions
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Enjoy our many organic premium teas while learning about their origin and creation
  • Responsible for being aware of and following all food safety protocols as required by Rishi Tea's food safety management system, as they relate to this position;

Goals of Position:

  • Support the FP&A/Data Analytics team by providing insights through data analysis, reporting, and visualization.
  • Develop technical skills (SQL, Power BI, Excel) and gain real-world analytics experience while contributing to business success.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience                                        

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. 
  • Strong interest in data analytics fundamentals – ETL processes, drawing insights, data visualization
  • Basic understanding of data analysis, statistical methods, and business intelligence tools.
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, Tableau/Power BI or other data visualization tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills
  • A curious mindset

Preferred:

  • Experience with Python

Language Skills                                                   

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate details, concepts, analysis results, and substantiation via verbal or written mediums. Ability to speak effectively and present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization. 

Mathematical Skills                                             

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and apply concepts to practical situations. Ability to read and interpret figures, graphs and plots.  Ability to manage, organizes, analyze and decipher large amounts of data.

Reasoning Ability                                                

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to solve problems via a logical, analytic approach. 

Computer Skills                                                   

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate PC skills and proficiency with CRM tools, internet software, and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and Excel. Must have the ability to operate general office equipment including copier and fax machine.

Ability to multi-task. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work under dynamic schedule constraints and consistently meet deliverable timelines.

Physical Demands 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit in front of a computer for prolonged periods, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
