POSITION: Administrative Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma/post secondary education preferred
- Five years’ experience in a related job area
- Proficient in the use of all office equipment
- Computer experience with a high level of proficiency with word processing, database management, and other software as needed.
- Possess the qualities of efficiency and organization
- Demonstrate a high degree of independence and initiative
- Possess a high level of interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate high levels of professionalism and conflict management
- Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
REPORTS TO: Principal or Administrator
JOB GOAL: To enhance student achievement by assisting the Principal or Department Administrator in the efficient operation of the school administrative office.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining a high level of ethical and professional behavior and confidentiality with regard to student matters and all other confidential school business.
- Ensuring that all correspondence and documents are prepared in a professional and timely manner.
- Typing and/or filing pertinent material as requested by the administrator.
- Assisting principal/administrator in the development, generation, and monitoring of the school budget, state grants, grant evaluations and other required forms.
- Greet visitors in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Assist aides and secretarial help by providing appropriate instruction and training.
- Perform any task relevant to the job description that may be assigned by the principal/ administrator.
- Communicating with parents, community and school personnel in a professional manner.
- Following district policies and procedures.
- Performing general/building specific clerical and supervisory tasks.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND EVALUATION: Wages, length of work day/week/year, terms of employment and evaluations will be in accordance with the provisions of the negotiated contract. Anticipated Start Date: July 1, 2025
