Position Overview
Columbus Eagles FC is seeking a motivated and self-sufficient Social Media Intern for the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) summer season. The intern will be responsible for creating and managing engaging content, fostering fan interaction, and helping to tell the story of the Eagles both on and off the field. This role includes working closely with the marketing director, graphics, and video teams to coordinate content calendars and produce dynamic social media campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Management
Develop, schedule, and publish social media posts across all major platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok).
Work with graphics and video teams to produce high-quality content, including photos, short videos, and game-day graphics.
Organize a cohesive content calendar to keep fans informed of upcoming matches, team news, and events.
Game Day Coverage
Attend all home games:
May 18 at Historic Crew Stadium
May 23 at The Fortress
June 13 at The Fortress
June 23 at The Fortress
Provide real-time social media updates, including live scores, photos, behind-the-scenes footage, player highlights, and fan engagement.
Capture player interviews and post-game highlights to share on social platforms.
Practice Coverage
Attend occasional practices at Ohio Dominican University to gather additional team content, including photos, interviews, and practice insights.
Community Engagement
Interact with fans and respond to comments and messages in a timely, professional manner.
Use creative storytelling to promote the Columbus Eagles’ mission, team culture, and community initiatives.
Reporting & Analytics
Track engagement metrics and use insights to refine content strategy.
Provide regular updates and reports to the Marketing Director on social media performance and growth.
Qualifications
Strong familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok) and emerging trends.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic photography and videography skills (professional equipment not required, but a plus).
Knowledge of sports and/or soccer is preferred, but not mandatory.
Experience with content scheduling platforms (e.g., Hootsuite, Later) and basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
Self-starter with a strong ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
Reliable transportation to attend home games and occasional practices.
