Portfolio Investment Manager

American National is seeking a full-time, Portfolio Investment Manager. In this position you will produce financial models and analysis, provide forecasting projections, and assist with the ever-growing investment portfolio that includes fixed income, equity assets, and alternative investments. To be successful in the position you will hold a relevant bachelor's degree and have familiarity with financial modeling, and investments.

 

Onsite Placement: Houston, Texas

 

What will you do?

  • Provide support to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer regarding technical analysis on risk and return characteristics of each asset class in the diverse investment portfolio
  • Produce management reporting analytics on a monthly and quarterly basis including but not limited to holdings by asset class and product and/or segment, transaction analysis, review of securitizations
  • Assist in producing and maintaining investment projections across the American National portfolio and asset classes
  • Develop and maintain reports to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal guidelines, and limitations
  • Develop internal reports and tools to assist in the analysis of portfolios based upon the plans and portfolio needs
  • Deliver, facilitate, and discuss investment reports and presentation with  business leaders
  • Maintain knowledge of all asset classes in the American National portfolio including risk and return characteristics and capital implications across accounting, regulatory, and rating agency frameworks

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, preferred)
  • Relevant work experience (Banking, Investments) beneficial
  • Demonstrated financial modeling skills to predict outcomes
  • Technical skills in Excel (Power BI, SAP, BPC, beneficial)
  • Ability to meet or exceed required deadlines in an independent work environment
  • Strong critical thinking, written, and verbal communication competencies
