Inventory Specialist Intern

Buyers Products, a leading manufacturer in the Work Truck Industry, is searching for an Inventory Specialist Intern because Buyers Products is transitioning from an out of date / limited scale enterprise software system to cloud based system (IFS).   As a precursor to the transition, it is mapping and relabeling our inventory locations to a cartesian system.  This internship position would involve mapping the current layout, generating location in current system, physically relabeling and transferring current inventory via handheld barcode scanner to new locations.

Primary Job Duties:

• Utilize mapping of facility to identify geographic location specific to that rack / area
  • Verify by separate process
  • Document on floor layout
  • Create location in current system
  • Generate rack labels
  • Post labels to existing racks
• Physically transfer via scanner from old to new location utilizing hand scanner.
  • Confirming description is representative of part.
    • Identify, document and escalate mismatches.
  • Count low volume items,
    • Identify, document and escalate mismatches,
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Skills/ Experience:

• Proficiency in Excel
• Ability to learn and operate an order pick 
• Ability to learn and drive a tow motor
• Ability to learn or read blueprints and confirm part number.
• Attention to detail and accuracy of work.
• Follow direction and work with minimal supervision.
  • Stay focused and maintain pace throughout day.

Education Background:

• Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Mobility and dexterity to move around office settings including accessing file cabinets or storage and navigating to different workstations. 
• Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time and engage in some repetitive motion. 
• Ability to stand 75% of day 
• Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment
