Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, preferred hours 8:30am – 4:30pm (with flexibility)

Chernick & Chernick is a small established law firm that has been representing clients with personal injury, workers’ compensation, and probate and estate planning cases for over 30 years. We are a dedicated group of experienced attorneys proudly serve the entirety of Western Massachusetts.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a full time Legal Assistant/Paralegal to assist attorneys with all personal injury matters from the beginning of a claim, through processing of Personal Injury Protection benefits (PIP), gathering of medical records, organization of files, preparation of demand packages and all other relevant work required in the preparation of a file for either settlement or litigation. The candidate will also assist counsel with all aspects of litigation.
Additionally, the candidate will assist attorneys in all aspects of Workers’ Compensation cases from filing of claims, gathering of medical records, organization of files, preparation of exhibit packages and communicating with clients during the pendency of their claim.
The candidate will also provide general office support including answering and directing phone calls in a professional and courteous manner, greeting and assisting visitors, managing the daily mail, scheduling meetings, as well as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.

Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
- 2-5 years of related experience is preferred, but we will train an appropriate candidate who is willing to learn.
- Working knowledge of professional office practices and etiquette is strongly desired.
- Strong technical and administrative aptitude, excellent computer and technical skills required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe, and willing to learn how to utilize case management software.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents and demand packages.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Bilingual skills are helpful but not required.
Salary Range: Competitive/generous salary based upon experience and qualifications. Salary is negotiable depending on the candidate’s skills and experience.
