Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction, and Multilingual Learning
Position Overview:
The Coordinator of Curriculum, Instruction, and Multilingual Learning is a district-level instructional leader responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum across all grade levels in English language immersion and dual language immersion settings. The coordinator leads efforts in curriculum development, instructional resource selection, and delivery of professional development to ensure high-quality instruction for our culturally and linguistically diverse population of learners.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field in education
Valid teaching license/certification (Professional Educator License)
Minimum of 4-5 years of successful teaching experience
English and Spanish language proficiency required
English as a second language and/or bilingual education license preferred
Director of Curriculum and Instruction licensure preferred
Experience with instructional or school improvement processes, and/or curriculum development preferred
Essential Functions:
Curriculum Development & Revision
Support teams in the processes for regular curriculum review and revision across 4K-12 subject areas within and outside of the dual language program
Maintain curriculum maps, pacing guides, and instructional frameworks
Assist Directors and teachers in the implementation of curriculum to ensure consistency and quality
Professional Development & Training
Plan and facilitate professional learning for teachers and administrators related to curriculum design and implementation and high-expertise instruction
Develop materials and resources to support curriculum design and implementation and high-expertise instruction
Design resources to support individuals or Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) with high-expertise instructional practices and scaffolds to meet diverse student learning needs
Leadership & Collaboration
Collaborates with school and district leaders, teachers, instructional coaches, and other stakeholders to improve and enhance curriculum and instructional practices to meet the needs of all learners
Stay current on educational research, best practices, and regulatory requirements
Support teams in the development and use of learning progressions to inform standards-based grading practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Comprehensive understanding of curriculum design, development, and implementation in classrooms in which English is the language of instruction and in dual language settings
Deep knowledge of academic and language standards and development of learning progressions
Ability to instruct educators in culturally and linguistically responsive instructional practices
Understanding of biliteracy and disciplinary literacy
Experience with a variety of instructional methodologies and scaffolding strategies
Strong background in professional development design and facilitation
Understanding of adult learning principles
Proficiency in using data to inform instruction
Ability to successfully facilitate teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
