
Web Developer
Job Overview
The Web Developer will be responsible mainly for front-end development and page maintenance. This includes creating\maintaining custom themes and plugins, managing integrations, and ensuring site performance. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about clean design, responsive layouts, and delivering high-quality digital experiences.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop, maintain, and optimize WordPress websites (themes, plugins, and customizations).
- Collaborate with designers, marketers, and content teams to implement website updates and new features.
- Build responsive, mobile-first layouts using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Customize and extend WordPress functionality using best practices and modern development tools.
- Ensure website performance, security, and SEO optimization.
- Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues across different browsers and devices.
- Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins up to date.
- Assist with website migrations, backups, and server configurations when needed.
- Other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in WordPress development.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Familiarity with page builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery) and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields).
- Strong understanding of responsive and accessible web design principles.
- Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and optimization techniques.
- Comfortable working with Git and version control workflows.
- Experience with third-party integrations (APIs, CRMs, email platforms, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WooCommerce, multisite, or membership platforms.
- Familiarity with hosting platforms, primarily WP Engine.
- Basic understanding of MySQL and server-side configuration.
- Exposure to analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tag Manager).
Working Conditions
- Office environment with standard office hours, Monday-Friday.
- Occasionally lifting of computer equipment (usually up to 25lbs) and moving between workstations or office areas.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer.
- The office environment has moderate noise levels from general office activities, including conversations, telephone calls, and office equipment.
- Collaborative work environment with cross-functional teams.
- Compliance with security and confidentiality policies to protect customer information.
