Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

$83,252 - $99,892 Annually

Sign-on bonus: $4,000 to $12,000 - during the first year of employment as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, with the amount determined by relevant qualifications, experience, and the completion of milestones.  

 

The City of Twin Falls is seeking a dedicated Deputy Prosecuting Attorney to join our Legal Services Department. This department plays a vital role in supporting various city operations, including contract review, land use planning, civil litigation, and risk assessment.

As a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, you will handle misdemeanor and infraction offenses within the City of Twin Falls, provide specialized training to the Twin Falls Police Department, and represent the city in legal proceedings. Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing police reports
  • Negotiating plea agreements
  • Preparing legal documents
  • Offering legal advice and guidance to law enforcement officers and city officials on matters related to misdemeanor offenses

Qualifications: 

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed with the Idaho State Bar (or eligible for licensure within six months)
  • Minimum of one year of courtroom experience in a criminal or civil context (preferred)
