Social Media Video Editor

Position: Social Media Video Editor (Part-Time)

Location: Brooklyn, NY (In-person preferred)

Hours: 15–20 hours/week

Compensation: Hourly, based on experience

We're looking for a creative, motivated Video Editor to join our team and help us tell stories that matter.

 

About the Role:

 

We’re looking for someone who loves storytelling through video and wants to make a real impact. As our Social Media Video Editor, you’ll work closely with our team to transform raw footage into polished, scroll-stopping content for Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. You’ll also help shoot and schedule posts. This is a perfect role for a recent college graduate or someone looking to grow their skills while doing meaningful work.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Edit raw video footage into engaging, high-quality content for social media
  • Shoot short-form video content on-site (iPhone/DSLR)
  • Add captions, transitions, music, and branding elements as needed
  • Format content for Reels, YouTube Shorts, and longer YouTube videos
  • Collaborate on video ideas and stay current with social media trends
  • Post completed videos to IG, YouTube, and Facebook with optimized descriptions, tags, and thumbnails
  • Organize and archive footage
  • Maintain consistent tone and visual style across platforms

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Recent college graduate or early-career creative with strong video editing skills
  • Must be bilingual in Mandarin and English
  • Proficient in CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar editing software
  • Comfortable shooting short-form content on a phone or camera
  • Familiar with IG Reels, YouTube, and FB video formats and trends
  • A great eye for pacing, music, and storytelling
  • Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail
  • Creative, self-motivated, and excited to contribute to a purpose-driven brand
  • (Bonus) Experience in education, storytelling, or documentary-style content creation
