
Main Office Secretary
The Main Office Secretary plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of the school office and serves as the primary point of contact for students, families, staff, and community members. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, staff, and visitors, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a welcoming office environment.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage student attendance records, including tracking tardiness, early dismissals, and absences.
- Maintain student and staff records in compliance with district policies and confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with student registration, enrollment, and withdrawals.
- Coordinate communication between parents, teachers, administration, and outside agencies as needed.
- Prepare and distribute school correspondence, newsletters, and announcements.
- Support school administration by scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing reports.
- Assist with ordering office and classroom supplies, maintaining inventory, and processing purchase orders.
- Handle daily office tasks, including filing, copying, and organizing documents.
- Provide support for special events, school functions, and emergency procedures as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Previous experience in an office setting, preferably in a school environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and student information systems (such as PowerSchool).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with discretion.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with a commitment to providing excellent service to students, staff, and families.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
START DATE: Immediate openingRATE OF PAY: $26.05 per hour
