Marketing and Communications Intern 

Are you a college student majoring in marketing, communications or journalism and looking to gain hands-on experience while also making a real difference in the lives of children and adults with disabilities? Consider joining the True Friends team as a Marketing Communications Intern. As part of the marketing and communications team, you’ll use your storytelling skills to create content across social media platforms, website, collateral and more! Bring your fresh ideas while researching industry trends that will enhance our brand, communications and overall strategy.   We are looking for a team member who wants more than just a summer job! Our interns work collaboratively to find unique ways to showcase all of our True Friends programs and activities including summer camp, respite services, therapy and adaptive riding, retreats, team building and travel events.   

Schedule: Seasonal, Late May - Mid August

Location: Camp Friendship in Annandale, MN, optional onsite housing available! 

Pay: $15.57 per hour

How You'll Contribute:

  • Research, write, edit and develop materials for marketing True Friends to our audiences through print, social media, website and other platforms
  • Conduct written and video interviews with participants and staff
  • Capture photos and video content to support marketing efforts
  • Collaborate with team to complete a variety of marketing communications projects
  • Collect metrics to help measure performance of all tactical efforts

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • Pursuing a communications-related degree, a recent graduate or a professional with experience in communications, public relations, marketing or journalism
  • Possess excellent writing, editing, organizational and computer skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task
  • Experienced in graphic design (Canva or Adobe preferred)
  • Knowledgeable of social media
  • Comfortable using a camera and capturing photos
  • Passionate about making a difference in the world
  • Eager to take initiative and have a strong work ethic
  • Flexible and adaptable to an ever-changing environment
  • Able to pass organizational background check
