Fundraising Coordinator
This position is responsible for implementing short, medium, and long-range fundraising goals, with a special emphasis on annual giving and special event fundraising, to meet both the current and future strategic priorities of Gennesaret Free Clinics
Essential Job Responsibilities
Fundraising:
- Assist with the development and execution of GFC’s annual development plan in coordination with the Director of Development
- With the Executive Director and Director of Development, design and implement the annual campaign, achieving stated annual revenue goals
- Manage the Annual Giving Program, with a special focus on reengaging lapsed donors and securing new donors to support the growth of GFC’s donor base
- Assist with Planned Giving and other fundraising initiatives
- Solicit donations, with a special focus on reengaging lapsed donors and securing new donors to support the growth of GFC’s donor base
- Develop and manage relationships with faith-based organizations in coordination with the Director of Development
- Work with the Director of Development & Marketing to cultivate 5 new corporate sponsors for GFC each fiscal year
Events:
- Help the Development Coordinator manage the planning and implementation of donor cultivation, fundraising, and stewardship events
- Work to ensure fundraising events meet or exceed fundraising goals including the organization’s annual Heartbeat Ball through the cultivation of sponsorships, silent auctions, and individual donations
- Represent GFC at designated functions as required
- Solicit donations for the silent auction and manage the silent auction process in coordination with the Development Coordinator
Donor Relations:
- Conduct 6-8 in-person donor and prospect meetings a month where the relationship is moving toward recurring donations and deeper engagement with Gennesaret - with special focus given to the current donor database for the 1st 90 days of this role
- Manage a portfolio of donors (gifts of less than $5000) and prospects across all revenue sources – corporate, individual, and foundation donors – with emphasis on coordinating with the Director of Development in moves management (moving annual donors into major donors)
- Support donor communication content for email and social media
- Create, manage, and grow volunteer fundraising groups e.g young professionals group, Women's Guild, giving circle
- Track all donor interactions using the designated CRM
- Help manage and grow GFC social media platforms through creative and engaging content to help increase awareness of the organization to grow donor, volunteer, and patient base
- Assist in managing a digital library of GFC patient testimonials, including handwritten notes, stories, photographs, and videos
Grants:
- In coordination with the development coordinator assist with scanning for grants, writing grant applications, and completing required grant reporting
Executive Director:
- Provide reports monthly to the Director of Development to be integrated into monthly reports given to the Board
- Help manage Board of Directors Development and Marketing Committee activities related to development
- Manage a newsletter strategy, including monthly e-communication and board newsletters
Other Job Duties:
- Adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Principals and Donor Bill of Rights
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director or Director of Development
Education and/or Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in fundraising and/or special events required.
- Experience in solicitation, donor relationship management, special event management, and grant writing preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in philanthropy, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with under-resourced populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness and/or poverty, is desired.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Possess superior organizational and administrative skills.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage interpersonal skills and create meaningful relationships.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and achieve ambitious standards of productivity, achieving deadlines and with superior product results.
- Strong calendaring, organizational, and document management skills.
- Proactive approach to solving problems and communicating to leadership.
- Knowledge of office management systems, procedures, and office equipment.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work.
- Experience with a CRM system; experience with Bloomerang is preferred.
