This position will support of a variety of Fan & Partner Insight functions, including the design, execution and analysis of custom research projects, the analysis and packaging of insights using first-, second- and third-party data sources, the measurement and tracking of the impact of partnerships, tracking brand health, informing and optimizing marketing initiatives and supporting organizational strategy and innovation with actionable insights. This role will work closely with the Director, Partnership Data Analytics to help develop and support Pistons' growing global business.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Help support the Partnerships & Research & Insights teams initiatives, working closely with the Director, Partnership Data Analytics
  • Provide fan insights applying both primary and syndicated resources to support marketing strategy, new business and partner renewal initiatives.
  • Provide support to key collaborators across internal business units including Pistons Marketing, and Partnerships helping to understand needs to deliver desired results
  • Support Detroit Pistons to deliver insights to team collaborators and support regular insights meetings with team strategy & analytics personnel to share insights collected
  • Support the Post-Attendee Experience research project and help develop new collaborative projects with team collaborators that help identify areas for innovation and optimization across the organization
  • Support the design, execution, analysis, interpretation and reporting of primary market research studies
  • Support requests from across Pistons’ global business, including Pistons fan insights and partnership measurement insights using available data sources
  • Support the design of questionnaires, program/script surveys, analyze and create reports that draw out significant insights to help inform strategic decisions
  • Visualize and story-tell with data to articulate narratives around Pistons' fans
  • Present insights to collaborators across business units
  • Distribute regular and ad hoc reports with actionable insights in response to requests for research using robust data sets
  • Provide fan and market insights applying both first party data sources and syndicated resources including MRI/Simmons, YouGov, Global Web Index and other third-party data sources available.
  • Support new business development teams, proactively helping to identify potential partnership opportunities and build compelling stories while prospecting for potential partners and target accounts.
  • Help Support Pistons Fan Insights Communities including member engagement, survey deployment, analysis and packaging of insights
  • Help support Partnership Measurement initiative including primary research such as partnership health trackers, amplification studies and media valuations
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the Research & Insights Team to provide more multidisciplinary insights around fan profiles and partnership efficiency

What We're Looking For:

  • Understanding of research methodologies and sampling strategies
  • Ability to mine and leverage insights across first-, second- and third-party datasets to develop a comprehensive analysis
  • Solid understanding of syndicated consumer insights tools such as YouGov, GWI, MRI-Simmons, etc.
  • Ability to participate in conversation with internal collaborators to understand project objectives and deliver actionable insights
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to convert complex findings and large data sets into insightful, concise and easily digestible reports and presentations
  • Sports knowledge is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 5+ years of market research experience with media sales and digital marketing experience a plus
  • Experience conducting primary research projects both using quantitative and qualitative methodologies
