CCDE/Oakstone Academy School has an opening for a licensed 7 - 12 Life Science or Alternative Substitute License to teach Biology for the 2025-26 school year. This full-time teaching position offers a 185-day teaching contract and offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, retirement packages, and accrued sick and personal time. 

The Children’s Center for Developmental Enrichment (CCDE)/Oakstone Academy School is a private, chartered school located in Westerville, Ohio, northeast of Columbus. Oakstone Academy serves 650 typically developing and special-needs students from pre-kindergarten through high school. Our special-needs students primarily have Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Certification/Licensure in any of the following categories:

  • 7-12 Life Sciences/Physics
  • 7-12 Life Sciences
  • Alternative Substitute License

Job Description and Requirements: 

  • Working cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment and comfortable delegating tasks to team members, such as teaching aids and other content, to lead teachers
  • Differentiate Lesson Plans and Academic Instruction for students with diverse learning abilities
  • Work closely with general education colleagues, Intervention Specialists, and Therapy Teams.
  • Maintain STEM Certification
  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and translate them into learning experiences to maximize instructional time for science.   
  • Create and write IEP goals and objectives, and facilitate IEP meetings
  • Communicate consistently with families concerning academic, social, and behavioral goals
  • Administer formative and summative progress evaluations to demonstrate the effectiveness of instructional practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required License: Current Life Science, a combination of Life Science and other Science Licenses, or an Alternative Substitute License with the Ohio Department of Education.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
  • Ability to build relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and outside organizations
  • Ability to meet all deadlines and prioritize projects
