This position is part of the FRCSTA bargaining unit. Salary is commensurate with experience, including education level and professional-level years of service.

Foxborough Regional Charter School District (FRCS) is a unique and diverse school serving students from across Southeastern Massachusetts. Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of the ELA Teacher is to ensure the language development of English language learner students, in both inclusive and separate classroom environments. The teacher will co-plan with the content teachers, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a co-teaching learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential; provides instruction in multiple content areas, and maintains a cooperative attitude with staff, parents, and students. ELA teachers will also provide specialized ELA instruction that is designed to advance English language development and foster English language proficiency. ELA instruction includes social and academic language in all four language domains: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. ELA instruction promotes academic achievement by providing students with systematic, explicit, and sustained language instruction that entails a laser-sharp focus on academic language
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position will:
- Provides direct and differentiated writing instruction to students, ensuring alignment with Massachusetts ELA standards.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental levels of students and implements engaging lessons that enable all students to progress toward meeting intended outcomes.
- Designs and delivers writing-focused instruction that emphasizes critical thinking, structure, and creativity, while incorporating grammar, vocabulary, and revision techniques.
- Utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, including modeling, mentor texts, and writer’s workshops, to support student growth in writing.
- Regularly assesses student writing through formative and summative assessments, providing targeted feedback and opportunities for revision and improvement.
- Analyzes student performance data to adjust instructional practices and implement appropriate interventions or extensions.
- Collaborates with colleagues, including reading specialists, special educators, and ELE educators, to support diverse learners and implement effective literacy strategies.
- Engages students in discussions about their writing, helping them develop confidence, voice, and clarity in their written expression.
- Establishes a classroom environment that fosters student engagement, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
- Communicates regularly with families regarding student progress, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Participates in professional development opportunities and applies best practices in literacy instruction.
- Demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning community.

- Regular attendance is an essential function; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standards
- Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed
Qualifications - Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (English Language Arts and Literacy)
- Required to be SEI Endorsed within one year of employment
- Demonstrate subject matter competency in the areas of teaching
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a public school setting
- Familiarity with state and federal guidelines regarding language instruction for Limited English Proficient and Immigrant students.
- Experience in administering ELL assessments (ACCESS, LAS, etc.)
- Demonstrate subject matter competency in the areas of English language acquisition.
- Deep commitment to DEI and anti-bias, anti-racist approaches to education and service.
- Candidates are subject to background checks, including CORI clearance and fingerprinting.
- Current authorization to work in the United States
- Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
Qualifications - Preferred:
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Experience working in an urban school district
- Proficiency in multiple languages, reflecting our diverse student population
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
The majority of work is performed in a school or classroom environment, which usually has a moderate noise level. Regular attendance is necessary; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standards.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry.
