Position Overview

Epic Races is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Event Planning Intern to assist in the planning and execution of endurance and multisport events. This role is ideal for a college student interested in event management, sports marketing, or hospitality. The internship will provide hands-on experience in all aspects of event production, from logistics and marketing to race-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in event planning, including logistics, scheduling, and coordination with vendors, sponsors, and volunteers.

Help manage participant registration, communication, and customer service inquiries.

Support marketing efforts, including social media content creation, email campaigns, and website updates.

Contribute to sponsorship and partnership outreach efforts.

Assist with race-day operations, including setup, execution, and breakdown.

Conduct post-event evaluations and assist with data analysis for improvement.

Perform administrative duties such as document organization, data entry, and research.

Minimum Requirements

Currently enrolled in a college or university program (preferably in Event Management, Sports Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field).

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite; experience with social media platforms is a plus.

Ability to work weekends and very early mornings for events.

Must have reliable transportation to event sites in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Jackson.

Preferred Skills

Experience in event planning, customer service, or marketing.

Experience with running and/or triathlon.

Familiarity with the endurance racing industry.

Basic graphic design or video editing skills (e.g., Canva).

Ability to lift and transport event materials (up to 50 lbs).
