Do you enjoy instructing and supporting a diverse student population in a rich learning environment? Do you thrive in a collaborative student centered academic and student affairs division? Would you like to work at an institution where professional development is encouraged, prioritized and supported?
The Department of Biology is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to teach Anatomy and Physiology I & II (lecture and lab), collaborate and contribute to innovation in A&P curriculum development, and to help advance the college's efforts to ensure equitable outcomes for all HCC students.
As a prerequisite for competitive allied health programs such as nursing and radiation technology, Anatomy and Physiology I and II at HCC provides students with foundational knowledge of human structure and function through case studies, problem-based learning, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and hands-on laboratory experience.
The successful candidate will have a record of excellence in teaching A&P including two years as the instructor of record for both lab and lecture, demonstrated experience with progressive, student-centered teaching strategies, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment.
In addition to teaching, candidates should show dedication to mentoring and advising students, collaborating with colleagues, contributing to program assessment and development, and engaging with the broader campus and community through departmental service and shared governance on campus. The successful candidate will be expected to build and reinforce relationships with transfer and professional programs on and off campus to ensure our students are successful, competitive applicants for education and career opportunities.
This is primarily an on-campus position although limited hybrid teaching opportunities may be available. All laboratory sections of A&P I and II are taught on campus.
