Videographer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Videographer to join our content team, focusing exclusively on capturing high-quality video content. Your primary responsibility will be capturing video footage clearly and effectively and logging the raw media for post-production. You will work within clear guidelines, focusing solely on capturing content accurately. This role is ideal for someone skilled in camera operation and lighting, highly organized, and comfortable performing structured, repetitive tasks. 

 

This position offers consistent workload and structure, with potential to expand into broader media roles over time. You’ll collaborate directly with our content team and external contractors to ensure seamless handoff of all captured media. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate professional video and lighting equipment to capture clear, high-quality video content.
  • Organize, label, and package raw video footage clearly and logically, ensuring easy accessibility for editors.
  • Regularly transfer and manage large media files using Dropbox and SharePoint.
  • Conduct basic administrative tasks and provide quick fixes for existing media or products.
  • Maintain and care for video and lighting equipment, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Manage multiple modules at a time, typically balancing 2 at a time, with a goal of completing one module every 1-2 weeks. Note that module progression is staggered.

This role is focused on the essential tasks of capturing and logging footage, providing vital support to the creative and editorial teams. Day-to-day duties involve limited creative input, as content must adhere to a straightforward visual style consistent with corporate or educational video standardsStructured, disciplined workflow and attention to detail are crucial.

Workload & Process

  • Capturing Content (60%): Majority of your time (at least three days a week, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM onsite) will be spent capturing video content for the content team.
  • Organizing Media (30%): Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to organizing and structuring raw media for editors, ensuring content is clear, labeled, and easily navigable.
  • Admin & Quick Fixes (10%): About 10% of your workload will involve administrative tasks and performing quick, straightforward adjustments or fixes to existing products or content.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in professional videography or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to operate professional camera equipment and lighting setups.
  • Strong organizational skills, especially in logging and managing media files.
  • Proficiency with Dropbox, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and structured workflow.

  • Experience with media management software and workflows.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for camera and lighting equipment.
  • Adaptability and a proactive mindset—comfortable with repetitive tasks and open to learning new tools or techniques.

Team & Collaboration

  • Mentorship: Work closely with our current Media Producer, who will mentor you and help you get up to speed with our content and processes.
  • Reporting: Report directly to the Content Team Manager, ensuring regular 1:1 meetings, direct support, and clear guidance as you navigate your responsibilities. You will receive structured feedback, mentorship, and the tools needed to succeed in your role.
  • Collaboration: Partner closely with internal content creators, external editors, and contractors to ensure smooth handoff and management of all captured content.
  • Focus on Video Capture: This role is strictly operational—no editing, creative storytelling, or managing staff is involved.
