Marketing and Communications Intern

We’re Hiring! Ok, ok, so we’re pretty much always hiring; we are a Recruiting Agency after all, but this time we’re hiring for us! That’s right. Route Networking Group is seeking a *paid* ‘Marketing Intern’ to join our fun, dynamic, and badass Team.

About Us:

Recruiting. Refined.

Who We Are

We’re Route Networking Group. We help Idaho companies find their route to exceptional talent. We’re a third-party recruiting agency that focuses on careers, not jobs; and fills permanent, direct-hire roles that help to boost Idaho’s economy. We’re passionate about the place we grew up in, the city we’ve come back to, the community we’re a part of, and the future we’re helping to build here. We believe in building long-standing relationships with both our clients and our customers, and in doing so, we help facilitate a unique and efficient recruiting process, unlike any other.

Who We Aren’t

Well, as you may have guessed, we’re not every other recruiting agency out there. We’re also not a Staffing company. We pride ourselves on our extreme commitment to integrity and service to our clients. We’re not the company the blasts hundreds of people on LinkedIn with erroneous, barely-relevant messages, hoping something will stick. We’re non-traditional, we’re a startup, we’re agile, we’re targeted, and we’re local.

What We Need

We need someone that first and foremost, likes what she/he read above.  As a Marketing Specialist with RNG, you’ll work closely with our small (but mighty) team to support our recruiting efforts. You’ll be the first line of contact in our marketing presence, helping to build and strengthen the RNG brand. You’ll network, build connections, and spread the RNG mission through our web and social presence. Like all our positions at RNG, we want this position to be something your uniquely passionate for, so you’ll also have the opportunity to create and evolve your role as you grow, and as the company grows.

This is pivotal moment for our team and we need someone passionate, self-motivated, and hungry. This is not the cush, sit-on-instagram, wait-for-someone-to-tell-you-what-to-do kind of job. This is a take-it-and-run-with-it, do-awesome-$h$t, kind of career.

The Gig:

As the MCS you are continuously innovating and bringing ideas to the table that enhance

RNG’s digital presence and promotes the RNG brand. This will be a part-time (10-20 hours/week) position with the potential for an extended role as the company grows.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Social Media Management:
    • Assist in developing and executing social media strategies across multiple platforms. LinkedIn is our primary platform; the ideal candidate will have experience operating on this platform, building B2B content, and/or have the urgency to learn it quickly.
    • Create and schedule engaging content, including graphics, posts, and videos, to promote Route Networking Group's services, events, and thought leadership.
    • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments, and engage with followers to build a strong online community.
  2. Blog Writing:
    • Research and write compelling blog posts related to industry trends, networking strategies, and company updates.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure blog content is aligned with SEO best practices and company messaging.
    • Edit and proofread blog content to ensure it is high-quality and error-free.
  3. Content Creation:
    • Assist in the creation of multimedia content, including graphics, videos, infographics, and presentations.
    • Work with team members to develop marketing materials that support campaigns, events, and initiatives.
    • Maintain content calendars to ensure timely publication and consistency across platforms.
  4. General Email Management:
    • Assist in managing email campaigns, including drafting, testing, and sending newsletters, promotional emails, and updates to candidates and clients.
    • Monitor and report on email performance (open rates, click-through rates, etc.) to optimize future email campaigns.
    • Manage and maintain email lists to ensure up-to-date and accurate information.
  5. Candidate Outreach:
    • Assist in outreach to potential candidates through email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
    • Support the recruitment process by helping to draft outreach messages and track responses.
    • Help build and maintain a database of potential candidates for future roles.

About You

            Must Haves:

  • A strong interest in digital and social media marketing. You’re familiar with creating posts, developing content, increasing follow-ship, and developing strategies that drive metrics, especially in the B2B world (or you’re willing to learn it, quickly!). You’re familiar with tools like Canva, LinkedIn, Hootsuite (or similar), and/or Photoshop.
  • A data-centric marketing mind-set.  You’re not the type to simply sit back and watch to “see what happens” or throw money at a problem. You measure and track goals and know how to let those guide future decisions.
  • Superb writing abilities and excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, driven, and creative. We’re a small team and micro-managing is a non-option. The ideal candidate is someone willing and able to dive in, ask questions, and learn as she goes (rather than wait to be told what to do and how to do it).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Integrity. A positive attitude, team-mentality, and tenacity.

            Nice to Haves:

  • A background in writing; creative, technical, comic books, etc.. and/or graphic design.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and/or the ability to learn them quickly. You’re interested in finding new ways to be more efficient, while keeping the humanity in our brand.
  • An interest in recruiting, HR, and/or small businesses and startups. You’re naturally curious and always like to be learning. You pick up new things quickly.
