Development and Marketing Intern

SUMMARY: The Development and Marketing intern will have both project-related and daily tasks. These assignments will be chosen to benefit the intern with opportunities to develop skills in the area of interest and to benefit EmBe with workload assistance. This role offers a unique learning experience through close collaboration with development and marketing. This 12-week internship offers a flexible schedule of 20-25 hours per week.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ensure EmBe brand, mission, vision, and values are reflected in all interactions.
  • Actively embrace a cultureof empowerment and an attitude of honesty and mutual respect. Maintain professionalism, take responsibilityfor actions, and exhibit positive behaviors with both coworkers and external contacts.
  • Projects available may include the following:
    • Process and input information from various sources into digital records.
    • Establish an organized system for scheduling and tracking donor meetings, community events, and outreach efforts. 
    • Gather and organize data to enhance donor software.
    • Collecting information for social media campaigns.
    • End of internship project.
  • Daily tasks from the following areas may be included:
    • Engage with local businesses to cultivate sponsorship and donor relationships. 
    • Enhance donor appreciation through personalized thank-you calls and handwritten letters.
    • Craft, design, and schedule social media posts to enhance online presence. 
    • Assist in the promotion of internal events – posting flyers, reaching out to partner organizations, and uplifting marketing efforts. 
    • Create, schedule, and send out email newsletters to EmBe contact lists.
    • Streamline marketing templates and schedule throughout the year.
    • Administrative support duties.
  • Regular attendance as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A desire to listen, learn and contribute
  • Basic keyboard and computer skills; Canva and InDesign.
  • Basic understanding of a general ledger and electronic file management desired.
  • Organization skills, attention to detail, ability to follow directions and complete work by deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor required with high standard for confidentiality.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to see, hear, speak, and communicate.
  • Frequent sitting and use of hands and fingers to type.
  • Occasional standing and walking.
  • Occasional need to lift items up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities are needed mainly for up-close work.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work is primarilyperformed in an indoor office environment.
  • Noise level is quiet.
