The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSIU) is seeking qualified candidates for this full time position as a Director of Educational Planning. This position is responsible for providing visionary educational leadership and oversight for the CSIU’s strategic growth areas, including the establishment and implementation of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), expansion and success of teacher pipeline initiatives, development of online learning and professional learning initiatives, curriculum development and oversight, and cultivation of regional partnerships. The Director of Educational Planning will support best practices in online learning to assess and analyze current online programs and build capacity and relationships with eToole district partners and online learning course providers. This role will lead cross-functional efforts to align new and emerging educational initiatives with CSIU’s mission to support education, innovation, and workforce development across the region.

Salary: $$95,000 – 105,000 exempt middle management position following a 260 day, 12 month schedule. Excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision insurance; retirement options including Pennsylvania Public School Employees Retirement System (PSERS) and life insurance options.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology, Education Leadership, or related field. A Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Technology, Education Leadership, or related field is preferred.
- Valid Pennsylvania Supervisor of Curriculum and Instruction (CSPG #88) or Principal PK-12 (CSPG #95) is required. A Pennsylvania letter of eligibility is preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of related professional work experience required consisting of a minimum of six 6) years’ experience gained in the public schools, state-approved private schools or colleges and universities consisting of three (3) years’ previous experience as a classroom teacher; leading professional development; And three (3) years as a district-level administrator.
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience with excellent supervisory skills. This includes knowledge and experience in program planning, development, evaluation and management.
- Experience in group processes, public relations, and conflict resolution is desirable and the ability to work successfully with diverse people.
- Ability to keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.
- Experience with best practices in developing and delivering online courses online instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients, both internal and external.
- Knowledge and experience in software programs, including Google platform, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
- Knowledge of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
- Excellent leadership and management skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Excellent public speaking skills.
- Experience and knowledge of standard business budget/finance practices.
- Ability to work independently and without a large degree of direct supervision.
- Ability to contribute and work as a part of a larger team.
