Business Operations Intern

Join NEIWPCC this summer and support clean water initiatives throughout the region! We are seeking an intern to assist our Business Operations Division with administrative functions at our headquarters office. This intern will gain experience in a variety of business management processes and procedures that ensure smooth operations of our office and support our environmental efforts throughout the Northeast. 

 

You will:

  • Support office sustainability efforts by researching new initiatives, analyzing current purchasing practices, and restoring NEIWPCC’s “Eco-Office Bulletin” newsletter
  • Assist in the administration of the Wastewater Training and Certification Programs through the coordination of bulk mailings and data entry
  • Perform various office support tasks, sorting and sending mail, scanning documents, supporting in-office and external events, organizing common office areas, and formatting digital files in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

The successful candidate will have a passion and interest in preserving and advancing water quality. Ideally the candidate will be a business administration or related major with at least two years of college, with demonstrated leadership, communication, coordination, and organizational skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and experience operating office machines (such as photocopiers, scanners, phones, and computers) is essential. Practical business experience is a plus. Candidates with alternative qualifications or who have taken a less traditional career path may be considered if an aptitude for success and a strong willingness to learn is clearly apparent.

 

The anticipated hourly pay range is $15-19, depending on experience and education. This is a seasonal NEIWPCC internship based out of NEIWPCC’s Headquarters office in Lowell, MA. The intern will be expected to work 10-15 hours per week, and the position is expected to begin in late May or early June and extend through August, with some flexibility and with the potential to extend beyond September for the right candidate. This position is not eligible for telework. A valid driver’s license and access to own transportation is required.
