About the Okoboji Tourism Committee:

The Okoboji Tourism Committee is dedicated to promoting the Iowa Great Lakes as a premier travel destination. We focus on marketing and visitor engagement to showcase the unique attractions, activities, and experiences that make Okoboji a must-visit location.

Internship Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to join our team for the summer. This internship provides a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in tourism marketing, social media management, and visitor engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about travel and hospitality, eager to learn, and excited to contribute to growing tourism in the Okoboji area.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns to promote Okoboji as a travel destination.

Manage and create content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Engage with visitors, respond to inquiries, and distribute promotional materials at visitor centers and events.

Assist in writing blog posts, website content, and newsletters to highlight local attractions and activities.

Other duties as assigned to support tourism initiatives.

Qualifications:

Current college student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, hospitality, tourism, or a related field.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in social media platforms and basic graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe, etc.).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Passion for the Okoboji area and its attractions.

Availability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings for events.
