Postdoctoral Fellow in Biological Sciences

Summary of Job Duties:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will investigate the interactions between resource quality, developmental conditions, and offspring disease susceptibility. The Fellow will have the opportunity to initiate new projects based on previous experience and resources available in the lab. The applicant should have 1) experience working with laboratory colonies of birds or wild caught birds, 2) experience working in avian host-pathogen systems, 3) a repertoire of bench skills (e.g., qPCR, immunoassays, EIA), and 4) prior experience working with Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Applicants must have a demonstrated record of publication in peer-reviewed journals and have strong interpersonal communication skills. This position will participate in outreach activities, graduate and undergraduate student mentoring, and will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in biology, ecology, or related discipline conferred by the start of employment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with laboratory colonies of birds or wild caught birds

Experience working in avian host-pathogen systems

A repertoire of bench skills (e.g., qPCR, immunoassays, EIA)

Prior experience working with Mycoplasma gallisepticum


Additional Information:

 

This is a 2-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role. 


Salary Information:

$65,000
