Web Merchant Intern
Witmer Public Safety Group, a 30-year old privately owned company based in Coatesville, PA, is a distributor and wholesaler of public safety supplies with six unique brands serving the fire, law enforcement and emergency medical markets.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Web Merchant Intern to join our dynamic merchant team. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of web merchandising, including content creation, website optimization, user experience enhancement, and market research. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in pursuing a career in merchandising.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Content Creation: Assist in developing engaging content for the website that highlights merchandising features for assigned product categories.
- Website Optimization: Improve the performance of product categories by managing and enhancing product descriptions, images, and details.
- User Experience: Collaborate with e-commerce professionals to continually enhance our customers’ online shopping experience.
- Market Research: Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and customer preferences to inform merchandising strategies.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative duties as needed to support the merchandising team.
- Analytics and Reporting: Assist in analyzing the performance of merchandising efforts using analytics tools and prepare reports to share insights with the team.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Currently pursuing a degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- A creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Basic understanding of web merchandising principles and techniques.
- Enthusiasm for learning and a proactive attitude.
