Job Summary

This position will assist account officers to originate structure, identify new client relationships and portfolio management for existing clients.
Job Responsibilities
Managing Client Relationships
- Assist account officer to identify and originate new client relationships.
- Maintain active calling schedule and prepare call reports.
- Assist account officer to identify credit needs of the client and determine appropriate aviation and shipping finance product choices to satisfy these needs.
- Help prepare credit proposals, and obtain credit limits in accordance with bank’s guidelines.
- Monitor client's credit status and the state of their business activities on an ongoing basis.
- Work with account officer to meet business targets set by the department/branch.
- Coordinate with operation teams to support the transaction.
- Assist in the creation of debt financing models to satisfy debt service requirements.
Product Marketing
- Work with account officer to originate business from target /existing clients.
- Provide updates to department/branch management about marketing efforts, deals in pipeline and closed transactions.
- Assist account officer to cross-sell other bank products and deposit services.
- Assist account officer on new products development to support client requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Work with account officer to develop new aviation and shipping finance products and onboard new customers in line with the Bank’s risk appetite statement.
- Provide KYC information to Middle Office for review.
- Comply with bank policies (Credit Risk, Compliance, New Product Management, etc.) and departmental procedures for KYC and Credit Risk Control (including underwriting and post-lending monitoring).
- Comply with the laws of China and the United States, including Patriot Act (BSA, AML, and OFAC).
- Set up customer profile and update/review in a timely manner.
- Comply with departmental compliance and risks control procedures when accepting customers’ transactions.
- Detect red flags/unusual activities and inform Middle Office. Escalate to department head, if necessary.
- Keep abreast of compliance knowledge by attending trainings and seminars.
Others
- Actively contribute to department projects.
- Maintain and grow professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops.
- Assist account officers to prepare presentation materials for training, marketing events and meetings.
- Coordinate with BOC USA branches to support overall goals of the bank.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting/Engineering/Sciences/Liberal Arts at the time of hiring; MBA preferred
- Internship experience in Investment Banking/Commercial Banking preferred
- Internship experience in Structured financing experience, especially related to aircraft financing preferred
- Financial and credit analysis skills preferred
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, business acumen, and create problem solving
