Job Overview:
- The Business Engagement Specialist serves as a Community Ambassador for the Center, building relationships and networking to create sustainable community partners that equipped the Center with community-based program activities.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at relationship building, marketing, job development, and has experience supporting individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.
Some Responsibilities:
- Responsible for job development for Vocational Support Services participants seeking paid integrated employment.
- Collaborate with Day Habilitation management team to fully develop volunteer activities.
- Find and establish vocational assessment sites and volunteer activities for vocational, prevocational and day habilitation programs that promote acquisition of work skills and community experience.
- Conduct outreach/networking activities with external organizations and participate in fairs / expos, business organizations, and networking events aimed at providing community opportunities for the people we support and build our community presence.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree required
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program needs
- Use your own vehicle during work hours for travel throughout Nassau and Suffolk, ensuring the vehicle is in good driving condition. Mileage will be reimbursed.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in real-life settings preferred
- Sales and/or Marketing experience a plus
- Able to lift 50 pounds

Pay: $64,350.00 - $69,000.00 per year
