Tick Ecology Intern
The Center for Vector-borne Infectious Diseases at Colorado State University is hiring Oregon-based interns to conduct tick surveillance in natural areas of Oregon.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
•Conduct systematic tick collections in natural areas of northern Oregon
•Identify tick genus and species using microscopes and dichotomous keys
•Summarize and analyze data to understand the impact of land management practices on tick densities
•Drive long distances to rural areas where you will hike and camp
•Work and communicate in a team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
•A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle. You will be reimbursed for mileage.
•Willingness to camp
•A bachelor’s degree or are a current college student
