Position: 2025-2026 Full-Time Social Studies Teacher
Position Description: Archbishop Hoban High School is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position includes teaching five sections of college preparatory courses that align with school standards in a modified block schedule format. The ideal candidate must have a strong desire to cultivate an inclusive classroom environment and encourage a high level of academic achievement.

Position Responsibilities:
- Create authentic assessments that consistently provide sound practice and feedback, resulting in student growth and development.
- Incorporate various modes of technology into lesson plans and classroom activities.
- Experience with or are open to a variety of instructional methods and techniques to meet course objectives.
- Encourage a classroom culture of mutual respect and build positive relationships with students.
- Evaluate student academic needs and report student progress as scheduled.
- Communicate with parents and/or guardians in a timely manner regarding student progress.
- Ensure compliance with all school policies, procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and productive environment for students.
- Participate in school-wide events such as open houses, meet the teacher night and conferences.
- Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
- Maintain the confidentiality of privileged information.
Position Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid Ohio Integrated Social Studies teaching license.
- Working knowledge of school technology (academic software, Google, etc.).
- Appropriate criminal records check by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation. Have attended or are willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training.
