Summer Congressional Internship

The Detroit District Office of Congressman Shri Thanedar (MI-13) is now accepting applications for internships during the summer 2025 term. This internship offers a unique opportunity to serve the constituents of Michigan’s 13th District while developing professional skills in government and community outreach. This is a full-time, in-person position


 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

• Answering phone calls 

• Greeting office visitors

• Attending community events and meetings to engage with local stakeholders.

• Assisting with casework

• Conducting research on local issues to support the office’s community engagement efforts

• Staffing the Congressman


 

Other duties will be based on the intern's interests. 


 

We are looking for candidates with an eagerness to learn, customer service skills, and strong writing skills. Start and end dates are flexible. District ties and the ability to work events on weekends are pluses.
