Job Summary:
The Family Resource Center is seeking an Our Little Village Site Director. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The Family Resource Center Our Little Village (OLV ) Site Director is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the OLV early care and education (ECE ) program, a short-term program operating daily Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring terms out of two Corvallis sites (Dixon Recreation Center and Milne) and the International Moms Group (IMG ). This includes the supervision of the OLV Assistant Director and the recruitment, hiring, training, supervision, and mentoring of 45+ student employee caregivers. This position is responsible for fostering positive, nurturing relationships with children and families of which they serve. The OLV Site Director is also responsible for the hiring and onboarding of all FRC ECE Aides (student employees) for the Corvallis campus ECE centers. This position will manage the Our Little Village budget.
The OLV Site Director reports to the Family Resource Center’s Associate Director and Director of Student Engagement within the Division of Student Affairs. This position is informed by the fields of Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Human Development and maintains a working knowledge and compliance with the Oregon Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC ) Child Care licensing standards and is knowledgeable about the trends and best practices in the field of early care and education.

Key Responsibilities
65% OUR LITTLE VILLAGE PROGRAM ADMINISTRATION :
• Responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all OLV early care and education (ECE ) centers (Milne, Dixon, and IMG ).
• Plans, develops, coordinates, administers, executes, and assesses all aspects of the program, including knowledge and practice of National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC ) accreditation standards, DELC licensing standards.
• Completes required immunization reporting by working closely with the Benton County Health Department and in communication with families.
• Establishes, manages, and maintains collaborations and partnerships with various OSU departments, units, colleges, and programs as well as resources outside of OSU in support of children and families accessing OLV and in support of student employees.
• Works with the Family Resource Center Director of Facilities and Operations on facility related projects and program budget development. Manages unit’s preapproved budget.
• Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to families as is reasonable within a group care setting.
• Oversees program quality, assesses program quality through regular classroom and teacher observation to ensure a child centered, developmentally appropriate program.
• Takes a proactive approach to problem solving. Manages through emergent, unusual or crisis situations with good and sound judgment.
• Manages the student scheduling software and ECE program software for all OLV centers.
• Ensures operational procedures are appropriately developed, implemented, and followed.
25% SUPERVISION AND STUDENT EMPLOYMENT :
• Train and supervise OLV Assistant Coordinator and student teachers.
• Model exemplary and high quality practice and professionalism for students who are engaged in early childhood professional preparation and other related fields.
• Organize and conduct staff meetings to discuss program and child related concerns and to design and plan program activities.
• Provide continual guidance, model appropriate interactions with children, support, and feedback in the classroom, delegating responsibility and authority when appropriate.
• Work with Corvallis ECE Center Site Directors on their needs for FRC Student ECE Aides and initiate recruitment with the FRC Director of Facilities and Operations.
• Onboard all student employees and ensure they complete all OSU and DELC trainings
• Ensures an inclusive and positive work environment that engages and retains student staff
• Participate actively in one’s own professional development and support the professional development and growth of colleagues and students.
5% PARENT PROGRAMMING AT OLV | MILNE :
• Manages the OLV | Milne community programming spaces
• Attends to parents accessing the Kid’s Gift Closet and Kid’s Clothing Exchange
• Works with FRC Administrative Assistant and FRC Director of Student Engagement on events and programming in the space, inclusive of toy drives for the Kid’s Gift Closet.
5% OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
What You Will Need
• BS or BA in Human Development, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field OR Step 9 in Oregon Registry Online (ORO ).
• 5+ years experience in early care and learning environments (birth to five)
• Experience as a program administrator (Assistant Director, Lead Teacher, Education Coordinator, etc.) in an early care and education setting
• Experience mentoring and supervising early care providers
• Demonstrable contributions to promoting and enhancing diversity
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Must be enrolled in the Oregon’s Office of Child Care Central Background Registry, hold a current Oregon Approved Food Handlers card, and a current First Aid/CPR card by time of appointment.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
• Master’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Human Development & Family Sciences, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in birth to three ECE program
• Experience working with students with children in a post-secondary education setting
• Experience with ECE quality assurance and program accreditation.
• Experience teaching or working with children who have special developmental needs.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
On-site active engagement in an early care and education context interacting with adults and children including work outdoors. Will include some evening and weekend work.
