EBS/Churchill Downs Summer 2025 Internship

About The Ed Brown Society (EBS)

Our mission is to celebrate the rich history of African Americans in the equine industry while creating opportunities for all young people to gain industry exposure, training, and experience, through academic scholarships, developmental programming, and professional internships. We are committed to fostering talent, building expertise, and creating pathways for students to thrive in the exciting world of horse racing.

 

Internship Overview 

The EBS/Churchill Downs Summer 2025 Internship offers a unique and immersive experience in the dynamic field of racetrack operations. Interns will gain exposure to various functional areas, ranging from marketing, guest services, office operations, and more! This internship will take place at Churchill Downs Incorporated Headquarters in Louisville, KY. It is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the daily operations and fast-paced environment of the racetrack industry.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in guest services and customer support, ensuring a positive experience for race attendees.
  • Collaborate with the office operations team to support administrative tasks and projects.
  • Gain hands-on experience in event planning and race-day logistics.
  • Participate in trackside activities and assist with the coordination of racing events.
  • Engage in data collection and analysis to contribute to the improvement of racetrack operations.
  • Shadow and learn from industry professionals in various departments.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

To be eligible for the EBS/Churchill Downs Summer 2025 Internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Junior, Senior, Graduate Student, or Recent Graduate
  • Have a GPA of 3.2 or higher
  • Open to all majors
  • Applicant must be based in the state of Kentucky
