SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS - HOT SPRINGS COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 – THERMOPOLIS, WY

Hot Springs County School District #1, Thermopolis, Wyoming, is accepting applications for a superintendent of schools. The candidate should demonstrate successful teaching, management, administrative and instructional leadership skills and possess high moral character to inspire and lead a school district that expects and supports a comprehensive educational program for its students. The salary will be not less than $140,000 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Thermopolis, Wyoming, a town of 4,800 in the southern Big Horn Basin, is a prime spot for history and nature lovers. Its historic downtown and beautiful surroundings create a top destination. Outdoor recreation is a major draw. Hot Springs State Park, home to the world’s largest mineral hot springs, attracts many. The breathtaking Wind River Canyon offers stunning mountain views and wilderness areas. The Big Horn River provides excellent fishing, and nearby lands are ideal for hunting. Boysen Reservoir adds to the fun with lake activities. Visitors can explore attractions like the Wyoming Dinosaur Center, the Hot Springs County Museum, and the Legend Rock Petroglyph site. Thermopolis offers diverse outdoor adventures, including hunting, fishing, water sports, scenic drives, and relaxing parks. Downtown features unique shops and a variety of restaurants. Located between Casper and Billings, Thermopolis is known for its pleasant weather and friendly community, making it a desirable place to live.

Hot Springs County School District #1 serves approximately 585 students in three schools that offer a comprehensive educational program for students in grades kindergarten through 12.  Our dedicated staff supports student development through a well-balanced curricular experience that utilizes a Professional Learning Community framework. Students explore all core subject areas along with opportunities to meet student interests and prepare them to be college and career ready. The district is fully accredited by the Wyoming Department of Education.
