GENERAL SUMMARY
This is a confidential position working in the Youth Development Center Claims Administration (YDCCA) Office. The Senior Claims Processing Specialist performs varied clerical and claims processing functions requiring regular application and limited interpretation of routine processes, protocols, and rules. Positions in this class require specialized knowledge of YDCCA processes (training provided). Employees in this position are expected to work on-site, with minimal travel for assigned tasks. Employees in this position are subject to transfer or reassignment at the discretion of the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts.
This position is subject to continued available funding in the Youth Development Center Settlement Fund (“Fund”) and shall terminate upon elimination of the YDC Claims Administrator position or exhaustion or termination of the Fund.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform a variety of claims processing functions.
· Review claims for completeness and accuracy of information.
· Perform data entry of claim activity information in electronic data management system.
· Prepare correspondence and claims processing templates (such as scheduling notices) with assigned information.
· Send, file, and record claim activity emails to stakeholders.
· File, catalog, and transfer claim information electronically and in paper system.
· Catalog and perform data entry of claim activity information into data bank.
· Organize claim material and files.
· Guide claimants through the claims process, by phone, email, and postal mail correspondence.
· Answer telephone calls and review email inquiries, prepare and files notes, and assist the public with general claims processing questions.
· Retrieve, open, sort, and distribute postal mail.
· Retrieve and summarize voicemail and provide regular updates to team.
· Answer inquiries and furnish information by reviewing claim records.
· Provide administrative support and other assigned organizational projects.
· Compile data for reports and summaries.
· Perform related work as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Graduation from high school.
· Five years of clerical or other relevant experience in a professional environment.
· Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the following knowledge, abilities, and skills.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Successful completion of a background check, including criminal records check and motor vehicle records check.
