High School Principal

Location: Nephi, Utah
Employment Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract
Salary: Based on Juab School District Administrative Salary Schedule

Position Summary:

Juab School District is seeking a dedicated and visionary High School Principal to lead Juab High School in fostering academic excellence, student success, and a positive school culture. The principal will oversee all aspects of school operations, including instructional leadership, staff management, student development, and community engagement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Current valid Utah Professional Administrative/Supervisory License or an out-of-state license transferable to Utah.
  • Minimum three (3) years of licensed school administrative experience in K-12 education.
  • Minimum five (5) years of licensed teaching experience in K-12 education.
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal abilities to engage with students, staff, and the community effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to inspire and lead faculty, students, and parents through a collaborative and student-focused approach.
  • Experience coaching teachers through growth-evoking feedback and professional development.
  • Proven success in supervising, evaluating, and mentoring school personnel.
  • Expertise in school improvement planning, data analysis, and instructional leadership.
  • Familiarity with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
  • Knowledge and leadership experience with special education, 504 plans, and Gifted & Talented programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Leadership & School Improvement

  • Establish a clear vision for student learning and collaborate with staff to implement a comprehensive instructional plan.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to teachers to enhance instructional practices.
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and data-driven meetings to assess student progress and instructional effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP) and CSI (School Turnaround) initiatives.

Staff & Personnel Management

  • Recruit, hire, assign, and retain highly qualified educators.
  • Supervise and evaluate staff based on performance standards, growth goals, and student outcomes.
  • Implement professional development programs aligned with school and district goals.
  • Develop a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability among faculty and staff.

Student Achievement & Behavior Support

  • Foster high expectations for all students and implement strategies to close achievement gaps.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor school-wide behavior management systems, including PBIS and MTSS.
  • Provide guidance and intervention strategies for students requiring academic or behavioral support.
  • Encourage student leadership opportunities and supervise student activities for academic and social growth.

School Operations & Budget Management

  • Manage school resources, budget, and finances in alignment with district policies and fiscal integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding education policies, safety, and student services.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and ensure a safe, secure, and welcoming learning environment.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to support continuous school improvement.

Community Engagement & Communication

  • Foster strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
  • Maintain consistent, transparent communication through newsletters, meetings, and social media.
  • Partner with local businesses, cultural organizations, and nonprofits to enhance student learning opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school, representing it in district meetings and public forums.
