Responsibility Summary
As the founding K-8 principal, you will build the culture, team, and systems of the North Campus from the ground up—drawing on the strong foundation of Aug Prep’s South Campus while working closely with Aug Prep’s executive team to discern what to keep, adapt, and create anew. Beginning in summer 2025, your first year will be filled with learning, planning, and building. In our inaugural year (2026-27), we expect approximately 20 staff members serving 200 students in grades K4-6. Each year, enrollment and staff will grow as we expand to serve students through 8th grade. You’ll juggle a wide range of priorities, including:
- Designing and implementing a high-impact academic program
- Hiring and developing an exceptional, mission-driven team
- Building a vibrant, values-aligned student culture
- Leading data-driven instruction to ensure strong outcomes
- Managing resources and day-to-day operations
- Opening a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility to welcome students, families, and the community
Reporting structure
The North Campus K4-8th Principal reports to the Chief of Schools – North Campus. You’ll lead an academic leadership team and faculty that will grow as the school grows. In our inaugural year (2026-27), we expect approximately 20 staff members serving 200 students in grades K4-6. Each year, enrollment and staff will grow as we expand to serve students through 8th grade.
What to Expect
No two days are the same in school leadership—especially when you’re launching something new. Beginning in summer 2025, your first year will be filled with learning, planning, and building. You’ll dive deeply into the Aug Prep Way, partnering with leaders on our executive team and at our South Campus to master our systems and culture. You’ll help recruit students and staff, ensuring the hopes and dreams of our families shape the North Campus experience.
As a bold, tireless, and joy-filled leader, you’ll balance visionary thinking with meticulous attention to detail—ensuring every aspect of school life, from the specials schedule to morning arrival routines, reflects our shared mission.

Qualifications:
- A deep belief in the God-given potential of every child and an unwavering commitment to providing excellence and opportunity for Aug Prep students.
- A living faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, with alignment to Aug Prep’s values and culture and a desire to reflect His love through your leadership. Active participation in a local church.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and administrator’s license preferred.
- Proven track record of impact with at least three years of classroom teaching experience driving strong student achievement.
- Three to five years of successful school leadership, preferably in an urban setting, with demonstrated ability to deliver results through coaching and managing others.
- Resilience, grit, and relentless ownership of school-wide outcomes, paired with a growth mindset and hunger for feedback.
- Strong experience and track-record building teams, developing people, and recruiting/retaining strong teachers and staff.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to inspire, influence, and build trust.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with team, parents, and the community. Ability to quickly and efficiently fund solutions to problems and diffuse difficult situations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Work Hours & Conditions:
This is a year-round (12 month) position. Work hours will vary based on season and program needs. While the majority of work will occur during regular school hours, some evenings and weekends will be required with a heavier workload during the school year.
