Certified Veterinary Technician

Hopewell Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician or experienced technical assistant to join our team either full or part-time.

About us: Hopewell Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, AAHA-certified small animal veterinary practice. We pride ourselves on providing excellent veterinary care and valuing long-lasting relationships with our clients and patients. Hopewell Veterinary Hospital has a long history of being a part of our community. We are currently in the process of a major remodeling project that will help us continue to effectively serve clients and patients for many years to come.

Responsibilities include:

  • Patient care: drawing blood, placing intravenous catheters, trimming nails, expressing anal glands, collecting urine samples, cleaning ears, administering subcutaneous fluids, positioning and taking radiographs, performing in-house laboratory testing
  • Assisting Veterinarians: recording patient histories, preparing supplies
  • Client service: escorting clients to exam rooms, answering questions, maintaining hospital cleanliness, working with other staff to handle client requests
  • Client education and communication: relaying test results, discussing vaccination and medication information, teaching clients to administer at-home treatments
  • Pharmacy: Dispensing prescribed medications
  • Record Keeping: ensuring records are full and complete
