
Finance Clerk

Seeking a Finance Clerk for a growing law firm in New York, NY. Potential future career growth dependent on individual accomplishments displayed. Current states serviced are FL, NJ, NY, PR, TX and VA.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsibilities include processing, tracking, and following up on payments due to the firm and our clients in connection with legal proceedings.
- Keep a thorough record of business transactions and enter data from daily work logs into the company’s general ledger system.
- Supporting the accounting staff by performing any assigned accounting and clerical tasks.
- Keep track of any consumer issues that require a refund and make sure that the refunds are issued in a timely manner.
- Posting payments to customer accounts.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of prior accounting experience with computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, QuickBooks)
- Ability to work independently and to conduct assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Competency and willingness to learn with legal software accounting systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to learn new software rapidly.
- Associates Degree
- Law firm experience preferred, but not required.
Candidate must be highly motivated with excellent organizational, typing and communication skills. Must be able to work individually and as park of a team with attorneys and other staff as appropriate.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
