OPPORTUNITY
The Adelante Teacher Fellowship pathway is designed for those eager to start teaching full-time while earning their preliminary teaching credential. As an Adelante teacher, you will:
> Begin as a full-time educator (start date July 2025 with teaching beginning in August 2025)
> Earn your preliminary credential and master’s degree through an accelerated program in partnership with Loyola Marymount University (LMU)
> Start with two online courses in summer and complete the remaining coursework while teaching full-time at a Green Dot school (school site placement will be discussed and agreed upon during the interview process)
> Receive support including twice-weekly professional development, regular classroom observations, and personalized coaching
Program Overview:
> Earn an intern credential, preliminary credential, and master’s degree within 15 months from Loyola Marymount University (summer coursework begins with two online courses)
> Full-time teaching and remaining coursework follow during the school year
Qualifications:
> Bachelor’s degree (must be conferred before Summer 2025)
> Meet CA Subject Matter Competency or CSET requirements
> Possess a strong belief in all students' potential
> Possess high levels of empathy, compassion, planning, and organizational skills
> Be humble, able to navigate stress, be self-aware, and open to feedback
> Will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer
Exams to be completed before June 1, 2025:
> All CSET exams in your chosen content area or verification of a Subject Matter Waiver
> U.S. Constitution Exam (waived if you attended a California State University)
Compensation:
> Annual starting salary: $62,316
> Additional earning potential with preliminary credential and additional post-bachelor units

> Asociación de Maestros Unidos (AMU) union membership, an affiliate of the California Teachers Association and the National Education Association
> California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS) participation, with both employee and employer contributions
