Job Summary:
The Accounting Assistant Intern will support the Finance Manager and General Accountant in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling bank statements. The intern will use the company's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system to process business transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing accounting environment. The successful candidate will be eager to learn and apply accounting principles while developing their skills in financial data management and reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department.
Maintain accurate digital financial records and documentation.
Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and financial statements.
Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
Enter key financial transaction data into the ERP system daily.
Assist company personnel with financial-related inquiries.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
Generate reports and summaries for management review.
Ensure compliance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
Requirements:
Familiarity with basic accounting terminology and principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Aptitude for working with numbers and financial data.
Ability to manage filing, record-keeping, and data entry tasks efficiently.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite) is a plus.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time, paid internship with flexible hours.
Work will primarily be conducted on-site, with potential for hybrid arrangements.
