Cybersecurity Instructor

JOB SUMMARY:

Willard High School is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Cybersecurity Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will teach foundational and advanced cybersecurity concepts, preparing students for careers in information security, technology, and related fields.  The instructor will engage students with hands-on learning, fostering skills in problem-solving, critical thinking, and ethical practices in the digital world.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful (BCI/FBI) background screening
  • Current teaching certification
  • Relevant industry certifications and/or CTE credentials (or willingness to obtain certification)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national standards in cybersecurity and computer science.
  • Teach courses such as cybersecurity fundamentals, network security, ethical hacking, and risk management.
  • Provide hands-on learning experiences, including labs, simulations, and projects to enhance student understanding.
  • Introduce and prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, and others.
  • Stay current on trends, technologies, and threats in the cybersecurity field and incorporate them into the curriculum.
  • Foster a safe and collaborative learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity.
  • Mentor students in cybersecurity competitions, internships, and career development opportunities.
  • Assess student progress through various evaluation methods, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with other faculty and administrators to integrate technology and security concepts across disciplines.

 

COMPENSATION:

Compensation will be based on appropriate placement on the teacher's negotiated salary schedule. The successful candidate will be issued a teacher's contract effective for the 2025-2026 school year. (183 days)
