Part-Time Spanish Teacher

Overview:
The CinDay Academy is seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated part-time Spanish Teacher to join our team of educators. This role is responsible for teaching Spanish to students in grades PreK through High School, fostering a love for language learning, and cultivating cultural awareness. The ideal candidate will embrace our mission of individualized education, hands-on learning, and fostering a positive, inclusive school environment. The position includes teaching Spanish courses up to Spanish 3 or 4, with the possibility of an honors option, requiring fluency in Spanish.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Instructional Duties:
    • Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate Spanish language lessons for PreK-High School students.
    • Teach courses ranging from introductory Spanish to advanced levels (Spanish 3, Spanish 4, and Honors Spanish).
    • Foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.
    • Utilize technology and innovative tools to enhance language instruction.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  2. Curriculum Development:
    • Align lesson plans with Ohio content standards and The CinDay Academy’s curriculum goals.
    • Integrate cultural studies and global awareness into language lessons.
    • Collaborate with other teachers to create cross-curricular opportunities.
  3. Student Support:
    • Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal evaluations.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their language-learning goals.
    • Maintain open communication with parents about student performance and growth.
  4. School Community Involvement:
    • Actively participate in school events, including field trips, service projects, and cultural celebrations.
    • Serve as a positive role model and advocate for language learning and cultural appreciation.
    • Collaborate with colleagues in planning school-wide initiatives and activities.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with best practices in language instruction.
    • Attend faculty meetings and professional development sessions as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Previous teaching experience, preferably with PreK-High School students.
  • Familiarity with Project-Based Learning (PBL) and 21st-century educational practices is a plus.
  • Passion for language education and commitment to fostering global citizenship.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
