Police Officer

The City of Princeton Police Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. The City of Princeton is located close to the north metro and is an established residential community between the City of Elk River and Mille Lacs Lake.  The Police Department is a close-knit family that has 12 full time police officers with great support from the community and the City Council, making it an ideal place to work.

The position performs a variety of law enforcement functions, such as routine patrol, criminal investigations involving state and local laws and ordinances, call response, prevention and community policing responsibilities to preserve the peace and promote the safety of citizens throughout the City of Princeton and surrounding areas.  Special Assignments may be delegated based on the abilities, knowledge and skills usually acquired through experience, training, or education. 

Those eligible are encouraged to apply include: officers desiring to make a lateral transfer, those completing law enforcement skills in 2025, and those who have completed law enforcement skills but are not yet P.O.S.T licensed.   Candidates must successfully complete the interview process, background check, psychological and medical exam.
