Medical Laboratory Generalist

Vitalant is opening up a new Reference Lab in Lewiston, Idaho and we are seeking a team of dedicated Lab Professionals to join us.  We are seeking Medical Laboratory Generalists to bring skilled technical support to the hospital transfusion service for St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, ID. Your impact as a Medical Laboratory Generalist is vital. Support Vitalant’s life-saving mission by contributing to laboratory operations. You will manage reagents, supplies, and inventory, input patient data, and provide exceptional customer service. This position presents an exciting opportunity for a fast-track progression to Medical Laboratory Scientist I in just over a year! 

  

What to Expect

Schedule: Dayshift, rotating weekends and holidays. 

Paid Training:  Will be held in Spokane, WA and we will provide hotel accommodations and meal reimbursement

Anticipated Start Date:  May or June - Lab Opening in July

As a Medical Laboratory Generalist, you’ll get to: 

  • Manage Special Red Cell inventory and distribution. 
  • Offer technical support to hospital transfusion services. 
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation. 
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and identify malfunctions. 
  • Conduct preparation and prequalification of reagents.
