Synthetic Organic Chemist

Medicilon USA Corp. is seeking talented Synthetic Organic Chemists at various levels, including Associate Scientist, Scientist, and Senior Scientist, to join our dynamic R&D team in Boston. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge drug discovery projects within a collaborative biotech environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in synthetic organic chemistry, including designing and executing multi-step organic synthesis routes.
  • Proficiency in common organic synthesis techniques (e.g., nucleophilic substitution, electrophilic addition, transition metal-catalyzed reactions).
  • Hands-on experience with purification methods such as column chromatography, HPLC, and recrystallization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design & execute synthetic organic chemistry experiments for drug discovery projects in alignment with client requirements.
  • Optimize reaction conditions to enhance yield, purity, and selectivity of target compounds.
  • Analyze reaction products using advanced analytical techniques (NMR, LC-MS, IR).
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and document findings accurately.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemists, biologists, and process chemists, to drive project success.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and independent troubleshooting in synthetic chemistry.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) to effectively present findings to internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in chemical drawing software (e.g., ChemDraw) and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic R&D environment while meeting project deadlines.
  • Preferred: Experience in ADC linker & payload modification, optimization, and ADC conjugation is a plus.
