Elementary Art Teacher (Grades K-4)
Dayton Christian School is seeking an Elementary Art Teacher (Grades K-4) for the 2025-2026 school year. This individual should foster a safe and curious learning environment for all learners. The elementary art teacher is responsible for designing and delivering art instruction to students in grades K-4, focusing on developing their artistic skills through various mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpting, and design, while also fostering appreciation for art in their everyday lives.
Essential Functions:
- Teach Ohio visual art standards for each grade (K-4) by developing developmentally appropriate teaching strategies/activities.
- Deliver engaging art lessons using a variety of teaching methods, including demonstrations, discussions, and hands-on activities.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of each elementary grade level, addressing different learning styles and abilities.
- Create assessment (grade book) based on the Ohio visual art standards.
- Collaborate with the other art teachers in the school.
- Manage classroom materials and supplies effectively, ensuring proper storage and distribution.
- Monitor student behavior and address issues promptly.
- Strong ability to integrate a Christian faith into daily teaching.
- Demonstrates critical reasoning as a professional educator through communication and preparation.
Dayton Christian School seeks quality candidates who have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree or higher in education, a state teaching license, and teaching experience is preferred.
