Production Technician Life Sciences

Cardinal Biologicals, Inc., a leading birth tissue procurement organization in Missouri. We are looking for a highly motivated, detailed medical professional to fill the position of full-time Production Technician at our Joplin location. This position is responsible for collecting, processing, and shipping life science tissues. They complete production records for all life science related products, assign lot numbers, and requests labels. They maintain log recordings for various areas of the lab. They maintain the donor database in conjunction with the Quality department and perform any donor collections as needed.  

Essential duties and responsibilities are as follows:

• Maintain the highest clean and sterile environment for processing all biological materials.
• Responsible for blunt dissection, washing, and prepping birth tissue.
• Completing serology and microbiology requisition forms and assigning donor IDs, lotting, scanning patient information.
• Assert detail in regard to keeping inventory of all biological materials and reagents; logging freezer and refrigerator temperatures; and logging production reagents.
• Assist in the collection of birth tissue products from the hospital which includes ensuring all paperwork is received and completed prior to sending to the lab.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance as well as ensuring proper inventory for collecting, processing and shipping birth tissue.
• Understand the usability of tissue and customer needs to process accurately.
• Other functions as assigned or required to meet department or organizational needs.

Qualifications required for this position:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is the minimum requirement.
• Valid driver’s license and access to an insured reliable automobile.
• Possess strong data entry skills, to ensure accurate and timely donor and shipping logs.
• 1.5+ years laboratory experience
• QA/QC experience
• Medical/ biological background- hospital protocols, anatomy, and terminology

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
