Summer 2025 Training Intern
Internship Summary:
As an intern with our Training department you will help provide departmental support by identifying any gaps, contradictions or discrepancies between our newest AI Governance Professional textbook and its corresponding training and assisting with other special projects as needed, while contributing to the IAPP’s mission of promoting the privacy profession, AI governance and digital responsibility on a global scale.
Get Experience:
- Identifying gaps, contradictions or discrepancies between training modules and textbooks.
- Developing critical thinking, research and communication skills.
- Increasing knowledge around AI governance.
- Applying knowledge to reviewing and analyzing textbook and training content.
- Supporting the upkeep of the quality and consistency of AIGP training materials.
- Assisting with other special projects in the Training department as needed.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn along with professional drive.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Part-time position, 20-35 hours per week (flexible).
- June start, with internship running 10 weeks.
- This position offers an hourly rate of $17.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Political Science, Education, English, Business, Data Science, or related field of study.
- Ability to learn AI terminology quickly (or already have a basic understanding of AI).
- Strong reading skills, including ability to analyze text-based learning materials geared toward graduate-level or higher-level audiences.
- Strong written communication skills, especially ability to provide constructive observations and make suggestions where appropriate about written materials. Experience finding and supporting observations with examples.
- Information literacy: Ability to make connections and compare/contrast content in various text-based training sources.
- Ability to work with a team, take direction/follow instructions, and ask questions to gain clarity when needed.
- Ability to follow a schedule, prioritize work, and meet or exceed deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, including the "Review" feature.
- The ability to use discretion and not discuss details of IAPP intellectual property externally.
- An interest or coursework in AI, AI governance, compliance with AI laws and standards, and the ethical and safe use of AI are a plus.
