Job Responsibilities:

Manages the Georgia Pathogen Genomics Center of Excellence Cooperative Agreement.

Establishes operating procedures, practices and guidelines and communicates them with program, academic federal personnel.

Establishes, monitors and controls schedules, project budgets, contracts, data management, and project evaluation and monitoring plans.

Plans, organizes and manages work of the Center and coordinates project implementation with the DPH Bioinformatics, Molecular Epidemiologists, and Information Technology members.

Directs business development and project management activities for the Pathogen Genomics Center.

Directs implementation of tools, systems, and bioinformatic workflows.

Collaborates with Information Technology to develop AWS environments to support data sharing amongst partners.

Responsible for cross-business program needs that include multiple academic and federal partners.

Creates stand-alone analysis tools  

Formulates results of analyses, including information in the form of graphs, charts, and tables

Interprets results within the context of the analysis problem

Generates hypotheses to predict future implications based on the evaluation of data analyses

Evaluates representation and visualization tools for summarizing data analyses

Modifies existing visualization and representation tools to provide insight into bioinformatics analyses

Facilitates knowledge-sharing with stakeholders

Aligns financial, human, and material resources to support the research program

Ensures that laboratory programs operate consistent with regulatory requirements concerning the performance of research

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in a related filed from an accredited college or university AND Four years of management/supervisory experience in health care services

OR Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of management/supervisory experience in health care services

OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Six years of management/supervisory experience in health care services

OR Two years of experience at the lower level Sr Mgr, Hlth Care (HCM013) or position equivalent.
